Too hot outside to do anything so here's a new post!

Hello again everyone - it's been a long time since we've posted anything new here. Sorry about that. Annie is fast approaching 2 and 1/2 years old and is her usual delightful and wacky self. She is a typical princess-obsessed girl most of the time but she also likes playing with trucks, as you can see above.

We've had a good couple of weeks this month potty training Annie who is now diaper-free except for when she's sleeping! Kelly was house-bound for a week and a half but it went really well and Annie is doing great with using the potty.

Since we are full-on into summer now we've been taking advantage of Gramma and Tata's swimming pool a lot during the past few weeks. Annie's doing pretty well although she doesn't like getting her face wet. She can kind of swim but it's mostly kicking right now - she hasn't figured out how to paddle with her arms yet.

This summer Annie got to go to both the Boonsboro and the Smithsburg carnivals with her Boonsboro and Smithsburg grandmas, respectively. She wanted to go on every ride she saw.

We took Annie to Fairgrounds Park to see the fireworks this past 4th of July - it was her first time seeing fireworks and the noise didn't bother her too much. Adam & Emma brought the kids and it was a fun time for everyone.

One of our big trips over the last few months was to Pittsburgh to see Aunt Maureen's new apartment and to visit the Pittsburgh Zoo! Annie had a great time and especially loved the friendly polar bear she met outside the aquarium.

And last but certainly not least, congratulations to Maureen and Brandon, who announced their engagement this month!

Hope to post more often going forward - once every four or five months is not really often enough, I know. Bye for now--- Joe
